基于液晶光调制器的可控偏振分光技术研究

摘要:为了实现对光信号的可调分光,设计一个动态可控分光器。利用液晶的双折射效应,建立可控偏振分光器系统。根据琼斯矩阵理论推导出光传输矩阵,得出透射光与反射光的分光比和液晶驱动电压的关系表达式。入射线偏光经过液晶后,其偏振态随液晶驱动电压变化而产生变化。而不同偏振态的光束经过偏振分光棱镜后,光束将会被分为光强大小随之变化的两束光,从而实现入射光的可调分光。实验数据的分析结果表明,在液晶的阈值电压与饱和电压之间能实现分光比为0~25之间连续可调分光。此装置对入射光为偏振光能进行精确分光,其分光效果与理论分析基本吻合。

AbstractIn order to achieve the adjustable light split of optical signalsa dynamic controllable optical splitter with the liquid crystal is designed. The controllable polarization beam splitter system is devised with the liquid crystal which has the property of electrically controlled birefringence. The optical transmission matrix is deduced by means of Jones matrix theory and then the expression of the relation between voltage and the spectral ratio is concluded according to the optical transmission matrix. The analysis of the experiment data show that this system can make continual tunable light splitting between the threshold Voltage of the liquid crystal and saturation voltage of the liquid crystal. The whole analysis of the experiment data indicates that this system can split light adequately when the incident light is completely polarized light or partially polarized light and its light splitting effect accords with theoretical analysis.
